About Jardiance
Product Description Jardiance (Empagliflozin 10 mg) is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as an adjunct to diet and exercise. It works by blocking glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, promoting urinary glucose excretion and reducing blood sugar levels. Beyond glucose control, Jardiance is indicated to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in patients with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease, and to reduce the risk of hospitalization for heart failure in patients with heart failure (with or without diabetes). This film-coated tablet is taken once daily in the morning, with or without food. Regular monitoring of kidney function, volume status, and blood pressure is recommended.
