Eylea works by inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and placental growth factor (PlGF): proteins that promote abnormal blood vessel growth and fluid leakage in the eye. By blocking these proteins, Eylea helps reduce swelling, slow disease progression, and preserve vision.
